Another mod I absolutely love is the Barbarians evolved mod combined with the Expanded Promotions mod: Yeah Civ 1-4 has a stronger pretense of a simulation running under the strategy game, while Civ 5, and Civ 6 even more so made it feel like a board game. 😂😂 Honestly, I wish I had a game development company just for this, I wouldn't care about anything else, but I would love a more realistically scaled version of Civ with more verticality to impact combat, better pathing, unit grouping, tactical formations with combat modifiers that are negative or positive depending on the formations, a spherical globe and other things. I've yet to find a solution other than resorting to a lower resolution which really wouldn't work on a 50" tv.
